The Time that Passes

We spend an average of three hours a week on trains and when we go to visit Leon's family it's six hours one way. But whether you travel by train or car lots of people have that empty time that always seems to be passing by to slowly. My favorite way to pass time on the tracks is with some needle work, sewing isn't the best but small projects of crocheting, knitting or whatever you like to do is a great way to utilize that empty time. My husband likes taking his guitar and serenading our fellow passengers, which they usually enjoy. Growing up the radio in our car wasn't a very reliable source of entertainment so we'd read, well my mom would drive and I would read. We enjoyed it so much that we kept it up, even after getting a car with a CD player. When I started driving we switched it up and she would read to me instead.

How do you pass the time? Train trips, road trips, morning commute time ... do you let it pass you by or do you use it?
