Why I've been lazy

I mentioned a couple posts back that I've been lazy recently, but also that I had a good excuse. I guess it's been long enough and the time has come to spill the beans. My husband and I are expecting our little family to get just a little bit bigger this fall.

We'll also be traveling back to the states this summer. So this year will be very busy, but also full of joys and excitement! It's my husbands first time go to the United States and also his first time to meet my family and friends. I'm so excited for so many things, but also worried about a lot. My brain enjoys thinking too much, sometimes it gets irritating but it all works out in the end.

Here's babies first picture, about 13 weeks and perfectly healthy. We don't know if baby's a boy or a girl yet, we live in China and they aren't suppose to tell you the gender, so we'll have to wait till we're stateside to know. I feel like it's a girl and people always say it seems like a girl, so I would like to know ahead, especially if it's a boy I'll have some time to adjust my brain. But we'll be happy either way, children are a blessing and we can't wait to see our little one come into this world!

I'm about 17 weeks now and little one has started kicking around a bit, it's not strong yet but I can still feel it and it never ceases to make me smile. We went in for another appointment last week, got to hear little ones heartbeat, my husband said it sounded a little naughty, I guess because it's so fast fast. Considering that they're ours though, I'm sure they'll be at least a little naughty and stubborn.

I'm of course also looking forward to spending the holidays with my family. My husband and I have our own little Thanksgiving and Christmas here, but it really isn't comparable and I'm so excited for him to experience that, especially Christmas! I love the music and the decorating, and the general excitement, brightness, happiness and love that fills the entire season. Growing up we always had a fake tree with the exception of my last Christmas at home. My mom says Leon's first Christmas, babies first Christmas, first Christmas all of us together ... we'll have to get a real tree this year and I think I may even make my husband go mistletoe hunting, of course he'll also have to climb the tree and cut it down. I'm just generally so excited for everything that words just can't properly express it!
