Food Friday's ~ Baked in a Box: Homemade Bagels for Beginners

Friday has rolled around again and amazingly ... I remembered and had some time. I've been incredibly lazy and forgetful recently but I do have a good excuse for both. Without further adieu let the chewiness begin!

I love bagels, with cream cheese, with jam, with butter, warm chewy and crunchy.... ok don't start drooling. Anyhow, as with most things wonderful ... we don't have any here. So I finally got up the gumption to try and make some. I used this recipe because it seemed a simply non-scary way to try my hands at these yummy wonders. And I was pretty impressed as far as first batches go.

If I was going to do it again I would make sure my yeast is fresh (I think it might have been a bit old) also I would make a double batch for bigger bagels, I didn't cut mine as thick as I could have and they didn't puff very much. So my advise make a double batch to ensure a good amount of good size bagels. Because I mean really you could never have to many bagels.

Here are some more amazing mouth watering bagels to get you feeling inspired!
